Stephen is a therapist-in-training with Root & Rise Collective who supports adults navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship concerns, identity, and major life transitions. He has a particular interest in working with men and young adults as they explore emotional well-being, relationships, identity, and the expectations or pressures that may shape how they move through the world. He brings a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental approach to therapy and believes meaningful change begins with feeling understood, developing greater self-awareness, and reconnecting with what matters most.
Stephen primarily works from an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approach, integrating trauma-informed, somatic, existential, person-centered, and mindfulness-based perspectives. He helps clients notice how difficult experiences show up in their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and bodies while developing greater flexibility and self-understanding. His work also creates space for clients who are questioning what gives their lives meaning, reconsidering long-held beliefs or expectations, or seeking a clearer sense of purpose and direction. Rather than focusing only on reducing difficult thoughts or feelings, Stephen helps clients move toward choices, relationships, and a life that feel more aligned with their values.
